Hunt Antelopes

While scrolling through a deck on corporate culture I was struck by this astute analogy (slide 34):

 

Whatever your industry, niche, or ambition – Think Big.

Aiming for “mice” is attractive – and we all fall for the trap of these small wins.

They’re much easier to find.

Much easier to kill.

But it’s a poor return on investment in both time and energy. The effort required to hunt and string together many small wins rather than fewer – but large – wins requires exponentially more energy. Over time you’ll burn out and starve your career following this pattern. Some of you already know what I’m talking about.

It’s a new day in a new year.

This year – leave the mice behind. Only hunt antelopes.
